1. Who we are
Ordnite ("we", "us", "our") is a technology company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We build AI-powered solutions and software products for businesses. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit https://ordnite.com, contact us, or request a demo.
It does not cover personal data that our customers process inside the systems we deploy for them (see section 8), and each of our software products has its own privacy policy on its product page.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address and message. We collect nothing else.
- Demo requests: your name, company, work email, phone number (optional), the solution you are interested in, budget and timeline (optional) and a description of your needs.
- Consent record: when you submit a form we note that you accepted this policy and the date and time.
- Anything else you choose to send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
Information collected automatically
- Language preference: a small cookie that remembers the language you choose.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps server logs (for example IP address, browser type, pages requested and time) for security and reliability.
- Approximate location: we use the country of your IP address only to pick a default language. We do not store it.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data through this website. Please do not include it in your messages.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to your questions and demo requests and to prepare proposals.
- To run, secure and improve the website, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To remember your language preference.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We process personal information when you have given us your consent, when it is needed to respond to your request or to enter into a contract with you, when it is in our legitimate interest to run and protect our business, or when the law requires it. We do not send marketing emails unless you have ticked the optional box asking to receive them, and every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link. You can also opt out at any time by emailing us.
4. Cookies
- ordnite_locale: remembers your chosen language. It is a functional cookie that lasts up to one year.
- Staff sign-in cookie: used only when authorized staff sign in to our administration area. It is not set for ordinary visitors.
We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and this website loads no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts (fonts are served from our own domain). See our Cookie Policy for details. If we add them (for example to measure advertising on Facebook or other platforms), we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the website will still work, but your language choice may not be remembered.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:
- service providers that help us run the website and our business (such as hosting, database and email providers), who may only use it for our purposes and must protect it;
- professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants;
- government or law-enforcement authorities when the law requires it; and
- a successor organization if our business is reorganized or sold, in which case this policy will continue to protect your information.
Our website links to third-party services such as WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn and X. They have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.
6. International transfers
Our service providers may store or process information on servers outside Ethiopia. When this happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information stays protected in line with applicable law.
7. How long we keep information
We keep contact messages and demo requests for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and normally delete or anonymize them within 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we have an ongoing business relationship or the law requires us to keep them longer. Server logs are kept for a short period.
8. Customer deployments and our products
When we install our solutions on a customer's premises or in their private cloud (for example video analytics, attendance, or document processing), the customer decides what data is processed and is responsible for it. We process that data only on the customer's instructions and under a written agreement. We do not send raw video or documents to public cloud services without the customer's authorization.
Our SaaS products are separate services. Each one has its own privacy policy, linked from its page under Products.
9. Security
We use measures such as encrypted connections (TLS), access controls limited to authorized staff, and activity logging to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your information or restrict how we use it;
- stop using your information for a purpose you object to; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To make a request, email contact@ordnite.com or use our data deletion request form. We will respond within 30 days, or sooner if the law requires. You may also complain to the competent data protection authority in Ethiopia.
11. Children
Our website is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we make important changes we will say so on this website.
